For decades “Housing Commission” tower apartment blocks have been a feature of many inner Melbourne suburbs. The term “Housing Commission” exists no more and it has been replaced by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). The government has decided that these tower blocks are no longer fit for purpose and so the plan is to demolish them all and rebuild over a number of years. Here is how a typical 3-bedroom unit looks inside.
