Villa Alba was built between 1882 and 1884. It was decorated by the celebrated Paterson Bros. firm of decorators.

This is a virtual tour from spire to pulpit, of a famous historic landmark in Collins Street. The church was built in decorated Gothic style and opened in 1874. The spire spire is 210 feet tall and for many years was the highest point in the city. It was built by David Mitchell, who was the father of the famous Australian soprano, Dame Nellie Melba, who was at one time a chorister in the Choir.
